Music Geeks… Brace yourselves!

With news of the latest X-men movie – X-Men: Days of Future Past – it has been confirmed that Superhero composer John Ottman will once again be joining forces with Marvel producers to score the latest installment of the comic-book franchise.

X-Men: Days of Future Past will be showing an alternative future for the X-Men, taken from Uncanny X-Men #141 (1981) that stems from a successful assassination attempt on a human senator that leads to the outlawing of all mutants on Earth.

Ottman has previously written the scores of X2: X-Men United, Superman Returns and both Fantastic Four films as well as the Oscar-nominated film Valkyrie. In addition to scoring the film, he will also be taking a lead role in editing, as he once again collaborates with director Bryan Singer whom he most recently worked with on the New Line Cinema blockbuster Jack the Giant Slayer.

Set to reprise their roles in the X-Men series are Sir Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ellen Page and Anna Paquin, as well as Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence from the later film X-Men: First Class.
